Stephanie and Olivia.
Sweet Heat was created in 2003 in the city of New Orleans to the proud
father, Joshua Sullivan.  Joshua was facing the problem of countless
spur of the moment barbecues.  Though he loved having company over
and grilling for them the lack of notice prevented the 24 hour marinade
of his custom sauces.  That was when he decided to try something new.
The dry rub afforded the opportunity to simply rub the meat and grill it
immediately!

After several experiments in flavors Joshua hit upon a unique
combination of spices, herbs, sugar, and love.  Since that time he has
never used another Marinade.

Time went by as it always does and Joshua continued using his mixture
of Sweet Heat on all types of meats, poultry, fish, and vegetables with
outstanding results and complements.  After over a year of sharing
Sweet Heat with his friends and family they convinced him that it was
cruel to keep this flavor from the masses.  It was then that Sweet Heat
was born (previously only known as "Josh's Spice")

Joshua faced some challenges as he started the company, while getting
bottling and labeling information a deadly storm approached his home.
Joshua heeded the pleadings of his wife and mother to run from Katrina
and spent some time in a State Park in Alabama.

After two months in the state park, Joshua moved his family to Port
Orchard, Washington.  A place that like New Orleans is on the water, a
port city, and very close to a Gulf.  Unlike New Orleans though they
have very few hurricanes!

We have now returned to Alabama.
